Chains 6800 Vs r8000

Hi anyone using a 6800 chain on r8000 i have one brand-new for another bike but I need to replace the chain on my daily. Other than Shimano special marketing sauce I can't really see why it wouldn't work.

If you're new please join in and if you have questions pop them below and the forum regulars will answer as best we can.

I'd have thought it would be fine.  I personally use KMC chains on my bikes - the X11 worked perfectly on both 6800 and on my current r8000 so doubt you'd have any issues with compatibility with your 6800.

If your chain has 4,000 miles on it and has led a hard life, I'd be amazed if you didn't also need a new cassette.
