That really hurts! Great play by you though. Plus he is favourite tomorrow.......
Pretty easy ride in the break today Israel Premier Tech doing the pulling for everyone.
That didn't work out for me.
Lots of people with Dunbar but I was waiting to bring him in.
Dunbar saved my day. Ended up bringing Van Aert in as a purely defensive move rather than going more aggressively with Narvaez. I got FOMO regarding Van Aert! Memories of Evenepoel scoring big on successive days last year!
Tomorrow is another possibility for him but the final 2kms might be too steep for him, unless he has ridden everyone off his wheel.
Will O'Connor still be in red on Friday.
It is an intriguing race. Half way through and still no clear pattern in GC or KoM. Young rider still a three horse race too. O'Connor seems fine on the big climbs but struggles on the punchy stuff. A lot of big climbs to come so does that tilt it back in his favour?
Carlos Rodrigues is looking good for white, he has improved a lot as the race has progressed.
Hopefully Decathlon don't completely sacrifice Gall for O'Connor, Gall has looked good on the steep climbs.
Yes, it would be a shame if Gall ends up as a super domestique. Decathlon have enough decent climbers on the team to provide support without relying on Gall but they are all invisible once they have finished blocking the road! Paret-Peintre is so small he wouldn't even be able to do that very well!
Quite Galling, in fact.
That should be a yellow card at the very least!! 😂😂
Dunbar saved me too.
Resisted the WVA change, caused me a few nerves before the break was settled
You have more bottle than me!
Damn !!! It looks like Narvaez is going to score again.
I had him in for 2 stages and he did ZERO, leave him out and........
I nearly brought him in 2 days ago but went with Van Aert. I never thought twice about taking Schmid out this morning ... regretting it now!
Taking Soler out to bring O'Connor in was my mistake.
I thought Soler was struggling the other day.
It's funny how we are all brilliant with hindsight 😂😂
Not just hindsight - I was planning to bring Mas in for McNulty today.
I stll haven't got that missing point for Soler the other day
That point would be gnawing away at me too. I've been out to the pub and I'm still festering that I took Schmid out....
I guess I am back in 2nd position in GC, the guy behind me had Castrillo & Dunbar yesterday !!
but has used 7 more transfers
Castrillo was a real differential - very few would have him. It's reaching that point of balancing points on board versus transfers in the bank. Ideally you want both but that never happens! I seem to have a decent number of transfers left..... I just need to use them wisely!
Have to bank your transfers for more certain points later on. KOM competition has yet to go full flow, sprints to come, and that TT at the end. All more certain than shooting for a fish in a barrel.
Yes, that is the voice of reason. But it is so hard to sit on your hands as the deadline approaches!
Especially after a few pints at the pub !!
Strict no tranfers after a drink policy in operation! Never ends well!
You know how it works.
It's about pts per transfer, not picking tomorrows winner, and minimising the number of 0 pts in your team at any one time. He's (?) a good player though after looking through his transfers, he's not picking many outliers, you've got your work cut out.
Yes, he has been in the game a long time and is one of the top players.
Definitely a player to be taken seriously!
Well I didn't expect this today.
I thought Red Bull Bora would control and set up the win for Roglic.
It looks like van Aert is after the KoM competition.
and Van de Mole has made a brilliant change bring in Woods & Landa for Gaudu & van Aert.
Woods must be favourite for this stage now.
and you have van Aert & Woods !! I guess you kept van Aert in for tomorrow ?
No, i fancied him for today 😂😂😂. I reckoned tomorrow would be a target for him so left him in for that and just the points he carried today! Very nearly took him out for a climber today but unlike my Schmid error I sat tight. Schmid continues to rain on my parade though !
Unfortunately I had today down as a GC day.
Otherwise I would have done the same, it looks like he is after the KoM too. Understandably WVA got combativity prize too , so another 63 points.
I got lucky with Schmidt, he kept my losses minimal. I was looking at swapping him out today but thought tomorrow might suit him too.
Roglic will be in red Sunday evening.
White jersey is really interesting could be any of the top 3. I fancy Skjelmose now that the weather is cooler and the final stage the ITT.
