Arrest made after Gloucester hit and run leaves cyclist dead

Police believe they have found driver of BMW involved in fatal collision this morning

Gloucestershire Police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a hit-and-run incident which left a cyclist dead this morning.

According to the Gloucester Citizen, the fatal incident took place on the B4072 Stroud Road, close to St Barnabas Church, at around 7am.

The vehicle involved, a black BMW, was subsequently traced by officers and a man, believed to have been the driver, arrested.

No details of the male cyclist, who died at the scene, have been announced yet since police are attempting to get in touch with his next-of-kin.
