Police appeal after woman punched off her bike in Bristol

The assault happened at 2.20pm on Tuesday in the Hengrove area of Bristol, causing the woman to fall to the pavement

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman was punched off her bike in Bristol.

At around 2.20pm on Tuesday 10 November the woman was stopped, while cycling, by a man who punched her, causing her to fall to the pavement.

The assault happened at the junction of Wharnecliffe Gardens and a land leading to Gilda Close in the Hengrove area of the city.

Police say two vehicles are believed to have slowed down and sounded their horns as the incident occurred, while a man walking on the pavement also stopped to help the victim.

Avon and Somerset Police Constabulary are keen to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or who has any information about it.

Please call 101 with information, quoting reference number 5215037831.

I was joking/parodying - apologies if I caused any offence. It's a common theme that the police seem obsessed with whether or not cyclists are wearing helmets whenever there's a bike incident and no matter whose fault it may be.

I'm sure that will be the polices first line of enquiry.
