Shutt Velo Rapide is the new sponsor of the Squadra Donne Ladies Cycle Racing Team.
The sponsorship agreement sees the Yorkshire cycle clothing firm provide Squadra Donne with their full racing kit over the next two years.
The agreement follows on from a partnership Shutt Velo Rapide has with the Orbea-For Goodness Shakes! team which the company signed at the start of the 2010 racing season.
“At the start of the year we started our brand awareness campaign with the sponsorship of the Orbea-For Goodness Shakes! cycling team with the emphasis of developing cycling clothing suitable for racing conditions for both men and women,” said Simon Warren, managing director of Shutt Velo Rapide.
“Over the past few months we have seen an increase in the requests for women’s cycling clothing. As a result of this we are now extending our product development further in this area with the sponsorship of the Squadra Donne Ladies Cycling Team.”
Team manager John Miles said, "I am excited that Shutt Velo Rapide have agreed to sponsor Squadra Donne Ladies Cycle Racing Team; their innovative approach to race clothing with its female specific range supports the teams approach to cycle racing.
"Women's cycling has never been so popular with ever increasing numbers getting involved - it is the fastest growing section of cycle sport with races receiving full fields".
The Squadra Donne Ladies Cycle Racing Team has had a busy racing schedule in 2010 with a third place in the Tour Ta’ Malta. The remainder of the 2010 season sees the team competing in the Women’s Team Race Series, as well as the Bruton Series.
"Shutt Velo Rapide brings to the market place cycle racing clothing that is designed for women, with its traditional blend of Merino wool sourced entirely in this country - and made in this country. The Squadra Donne team will have the best clothing in the peloton," added Warren.
Land ownership in England is a complete farce. Riverside walks are out of bounds and for cycling, the craziest situation is the Lambley viaduct...
Your phrasing suggests you/we don't already do this which makes us part of the problem!...
and for flying mosquitoes in ww2 films
Very sad news this, I rode with this lad once on a new group ride I was trying out last year. He was very welcoming and I could tell he was a kind...
Agreed, and I'd contribute....
Thanks for your thoughts David. Argos is looking a good bet.
I'm pretty sure this is at least the third time the BBC have had a story on this - not sure why they keep forgetting that they've covered it.
Watching sports seems super boring to me, so not a problem....
Wattbike are notorious for releasing products before the software is ready. Likely long term it will be fine....
That is a horror show. A gravel racers bike but since it has a motor no racer can use it....
