A motorhome commissioned by Sir Bradley Wiggins has fetched £47,000 at auction after it was sold to an online bidder.
Wiggins commissioned the vehicle, which is based on a long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 316 2.1 from Lancashire-based coachbuilders McLaren in 2014.
Wrapped in Team Wiggins livery, the vehicle’s custom interior features a lot of red, white and blue including a union flag-themed dashboard design and a ‘Wiggo’ logo embroidered on the seats.
It was sold last Thursday at BCA Blackbushe in Camberley, Surrey, attracting a lot of attention from potential bidders both in person and online, wiith1,400 people viewing the catalogue listing.
The vehicle, which has 5,500 miles on the clock, contains a double bed, seating area, integrated shower and toilet, a kitchen area complete with fridge, cooker and sink.
It also comes equipped with overhead lockers plus a cycle storage and workshop area at the rear of the vehicle.
The motorhome was initially put up for sale in August on eBay with a price of £50,000 before being listed for auction by BCA.

Overhyped.
I can't help but feel there is some irony in smothering a German van with RAF roundels, was there no Transit that would have fitted the bill?
Er, that was over 70 years ago in a different world. You've been watching too many reruns on daytime TV. Time to move on.
Seriously, Germany exports 5x as much stuff to China as the UK does, because they make things that people want to buy. No need to leave the EU to do that.
As a very pro-European, I think you may have missed my point.
Where is the patriotism (which he is clearly trying to indicate through making everything red/white/blue, smothering it in Union Jacks and RAF roundels) in using a German Van, at least show some lip service by using a Transit (granted, this is only lip service as it is mostly made in Turkey) or a Vauxhall Vivaro (that's made in the UK at least)?
And as far as that was a different world only 70 years ago, you may want to keep your eye on the rise of the AfD!
A Ford Transit, is that?
The state of it. Someone must have been on drugs.
See, now this is funny and clever. I like this.
Blackbushe airport is more Yateley, Hampshire rather than Camberley, Surrey. The whole of Blackwater is between the two.
Yateley.
Having grown up in Yateley and ridden my bike up and down the runway, I concur.
And Dylan played there in 1978.
My concern is that the purchaser will go to use it and there'll be no record of it having been delivered. And then when he goes to find proof-of-purchase, his laptop will have gone missing.
The lucky buyer should be careful when opening those overhead storage compartments, as dozens of containers of Salbutamol and Triamcinolone acetonide may fall out.
Oh my eyes! The seats were bad enough but that centre console...
Its enough to make you drive your Lambretta off Beachy Head!
