Every time I read one of those Telegraph / daily mail type comments "cyclists always go through red lights blah, blah . . . . ' i just want to throw something like this back in their stupid faces 'yea, you were saying'?'
But motorists going through a red light is because the road management system is institutionally biased against the Poor Hardworking Motorist (TM). If a cyclist does it, its because they're a Lawbreaking Scofflaw Bl00dy Cyclist (TM). It's COMPLETELY different.
All these bloody cyclists jumping red lights! Oh, wait...
The question now is whether the Irish legal system will prove to view the killing of a cyclist as the minor misdemeanor it appears to be in the UK
"Gardai also say that they believe the collision was accidental according to the Irish Sun"
The driver accidently drove through red then. No doubt the lack of insurance and tax was simply an adminstrative oversight.
Is there a less cumbersome way to indicate that the victim was not deliberately targeted?
Manslaughter not murder ?
Exactly. More 'Driver apologist' bullshit from the Police.
It does seem that the Gardai are scraping to find some positive out of the situation. Why on earth would you say that? Would they have stated the same if it was a pedestrian or another car that was hit?
