Jersey for top heavy rider

Hi

Can anyone recommend a suitable brand or type of jersey for me? I'm a bit top heavy (more of a swimmers build) - I'm a 42/44" chest but only a 34" waist. I really like the look of the Castelli Gabba 2 but I think the fit would not work for me.

Any recommendations are much appreciated!

Thanks

Toby

So after trying 20+ jerseys from many manufacturers (I know I'm the customer from hell!) I've come to the conclusion that cycling isn't for me 20 I guess I just don't have the right figure for cycling clothing. I appreciate all the comments here though and hopefully this thread will be useful to others 1

Think my Gabba is a 3XL, I've got a 46" chest though and archaeologists arms 1

I've tried on and thinking of getting an XL Gabba and I've ONLY got a 40" chest. Better to be the way you are than the 40/36 Man Sausage I am.

Altura kit in XL works for me and I'm a similar size.

Also Endura kit is good for the larger rider. Being a Scottish company they don't follow the Italian sizing that a lot of other companies do. Endura's sizing is similar to what you would normally buy for normal clothing. The quality is excellent too.

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I'm going to try a Gabba in XL and 2XL and see if either is suitable for me.

Hi Toby I am a 46" chest and 36 and a half waist.I bought a Gabba 3XL and it is superb fit.I would also recommend it.Why not take advantage of Wiggle and other company's who accept no nonsense returns.I was put off as the size chart had said 45 1/2" chest,I used Wiggle's chat line to ask loads of questions, they are extremely helpful. The jersey has plenty of give and fits well.I have used it in 2 hours of rain and was only slightly damp on my baselayer.I put that down to sweat.I have used it on days of about 15-16 c and it breathes well.If your still undecided have a look at Assos as they are also great fitting.
Good luck

I found sportful to be quite broad shouldered and I used to be a county level swimmer (although still fairly skinny with broad shoulders).
I know this may not be too easy but just try lots of different kit on

Beats me. I'm similar but if they fit in the body the arms are really tight. Why do cyclist have such scrawny t-trex arms? Seems weird to me to think folk couldnt knock out a set of chinups. I couldnt even get my forearm down the sleeve of one rain cape in the biggest size. Nevertheless, best fit I've found (but not tried the jerseys) is Vulpine.
