The rider values won't change, they were done based on the classics as a whole.
Only 1 of those is in my team, and he is in both. Ive avoided Sagan
I had Terpstra too but wasn't convinced by last weeks performance. I think Chavanel was one of them as I equally wasn't convinced by Phinney, as im not sure he will top 10, whereas with Chavanel I think he will either be top 5 or be nowhere.
Sorry, yes I meant that there are more pricey riders in the Ardennes races, so you have to make a few more cheap picks than certainly Paris-Roubaix when you could basically have who you wanted.
But actually having looked at the list, I'm wrong about that, provided you avoid J-Rod and Sagan. Will maybe apply more to Liege...
And that just about sums things up for Stage 3 of the Vuelta Pais Vasco!!!
Call a Doctor?
makiavelli knocked Wig_Billy off of top spot for the Forum's Scorum's Spring Classics lead and huntdeano(we seem to have seen good form from him recently)taking the purist lead.
Jonas Lorenzen done well to hold on and win the Forum's Scorum's Volta Catalunya despite a lowly 53pts on the final stage....stepho took the purist prize by only 3pts from the form man huntdeano(both have been added to the first post honours).
With both the VAC stage 7 and Gent Wevelgem factored in the only change in the Forum's Scorum's overall top 10 was TERatcliffe juming drheaton for 5th spot......Wig_Billy's purist lead is now an imposing 335pts.
Secret weapons today:
GW=Gaudin and Kuschynski
VAC=Nocentini
Had Kadri pencilled in for VAC but he DNF'd yesterday
One stage left and chrisdstripes picked up his 180,stage podium, high roller and podium badges for stage 6(Gerrans....what a pick!!) in the Forum's Scorum's Volta a Catalunya to keep up the pressure on long term leader Jonas Lorenzen whilst just NINE points separate huntdeano and stepho in the purist section....Oh indeed
No change overall....or as the Spanish Volta website would say when translated "The Lead is in Wig_Billy with platoon normal"
Jonas Lorenzen continues his fine run of form in the Forum's Scorum's Volta Catalunya(in fact he's leading the entire game in this race)despite good pressure from chrisdstripes and drheaton.stepho's purists lead the purists thanks mainly to an inspired pick of Salerno!!
The outstanding move of the day in the Forum's Scorum's overall came from dr heaton whose 137pts was enough to see him leapfrog TERatcliffe and stevemarks into 5th spot.
Wig_Billy's overall leads are 566pts in standard and 294pts in purist...plus I've just seen that he's bought in the same weapon as me.....Simon(Sojasun)
Managed to get to 6th in the league in this comp, overall i'm trailing way back. A good score today is needed.
I feel like im dropping like a stone. My purist was going so well a couple of weeks ago, and now my standard team is faultering
Unfortunately I don't actually have Meersman in my purists, really needed Valverde to see it through to have a chance there as all my purists are climbers/breakaway guys, so was relying on GC points for days like today!
My mistake....in fact the best placed purist team that has him is huntdeano 64 points behind stepho
Jonas Lorenzen keeps drilling it in the Forum's Scorum's Volta Catalunya to take a 68pt lead although northstar got a fantastic 180 badge to put himself in contention.stepho leads the purists after his mountain goats took over from chrisdstripes(although the stripey one has Meersman tomorrow).
Jonas Lorenzen's form in LaVolta continues to see him climb the Forum's Scorum's overall into 8th carrying silas chime into 9th both at the expense of livestrongnick who had a catastrophic Valverde in/Martin out transfer!!
Wig_Billy is still destroying the rest of the field in the purists(and let's be honest....the standard too, even after transferring Danny Boy out).
Jonas Lorenzen nailed a 1-2-3-4 to underpin his lead in the Forum's Scorum's Volta a Catalunya and it made achange to see Wig_Billy lose ground.JAndrewHill showed his form and sits 5th AND sixth(leading purist) in La Volta.
Jonas Lorenzen clambered above silas chime for 9th in the Overall Forum's Scorum's competition thanks to his excellent 163 pts and drheaton moved into 7th above livestrongnick who had a bit of a shocker(32pts).chrisdstripes wiped out 10% of Wig_Billy's purist lead.
The Guvnor Dave Atkinson's purists are having an absolute mare in 79th overall with no team selected.....shame after winning Paris-Nice purist.
Shocker is an understatement! At some point last night i had Quintana, Valverde and Stetina in my team and ended up with neither once i'd done my transfers....
As the kids are saying now YOLO!!
My purist team came 10th on the stage today! I might just not bother making transfers in my standard team either from now on...
A Breakaway move by Jonas Lorenzen has seen him get a 20 pt lead in the Forum's Scourum's Volta a Catalunya and he has a very strong looking team today too with Valverde,Wiggo,J-Rod and Quintana plus his nearest rival northstar taking penalty points.JAndrewHill leads in the purist from dr heaton's 8 man 'hornerless' team.
Jonas Lorenzen's audcious break in Banyoles has seen him overtake JAndrewHill for 10th spot in the Forum's Scorum's overall competition in what is the only change in the entire top 20.Wig_Billy pushed his purist lead back out to over 300 pts.....(unbelievably it looks like I have Domagalski in the break of stage 3)!!
I'm languishing down in 31st place after a very poor start to the season.
My aim for the remainder is to get into the top 10, some 900 points away.
The Forum's Scorum's Volta a Catalunya kicked off yesterday and after a stewards inquiry into the scoring of Meersman REALJimBob leads by a point.....with his purist team in joint second along with that of stepho giving us a first stage tie in that section.
In the Forum's Scorum's overall Alan Tullett had what amounted to a mechanical(failed to pick a team) and that saw chrisdstripes close the gap on him for a podium spot behind Wig_Billy and myself......silas chime jumped up to 9th at the expense of NeilG83 who seems though to be concentrating on mountain stages for the Volta.
chrisdstripes closed the gap on Wig_Billy by 2 pts in the purist division(only 296 to go!!!)
Thought it was a Tuesday start! But never mind, I'm going for a Full House by packing my team with GC and mountain point guys plus Fenn. If things are a bit unpredictable might do ok, but not expecting much. Not likely to win any overall leagues in any case, just going to concentrate on the main comps after this one.
We returned to racing in italy and the first of the Forum's Scorum's Spring Classics.....the snow shortened Milan-SanRemo.No surprise to see Wig_Billy outsmart even the weather to take the line first and the lead in the competition thanks to a 1-2-3.ray silvester(me!!)holds a narrow 5 pt lead among the purists.
In the Forum's Scorum's Overall competition we saw an impressive jump of 2 places into 4th for chrisdstripes at the expense of stevemarks(weird looking team?)and TERatcliffe. He also slightly closed the admittedly big gap to Wig_Billy in the purist section.
Catalunya starts today and there should be plenty of points available with lots of categorised climbs.
Changed it about too much, had too much free time on my hands as got back from my ride before 11.00 am Saturday. My original team had Sagan and Cancellara, thinking back cannot imagine why I changed it.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
You've got to hand it to robacairns......after slipping to 3rd on stage 5 he came back to move second on stage 6 and then grab the trident on the ITT in the Forum's Scorum's Tirreno-Adriatico competition.NeilG83 took the purist division amking it another two new names on the first post honours board.
Alan Tullett and myself are continuing to trade places for 2nd and 3rd in the Forum's Scorum's overall which is not helping the race to chase down Wig_Billy.NeilG83's purist win in Tirreno Adriatico has appeared to close the gap on Wig_Billy in the purist division though to 301pts(still agreat lead in both competitions).
Think my chance of a Forum podium are blown, as i have no Nibali, Sagan or Pureto!
Tough racing and plenty of abandons in Tirreno-Adriatico might shake things up a bit.
Congrats to drheaton after his massive 246pts(2nd in the entire game)for the Col D'Eze time trial was enough to snatch the Forum's Scorum's Paris-Nice title.Having led the purist division right through the 'Race to The Sun' I was gutted to lose it at the end but fair play,it was to "The Guv'nor" Dave Atkinson(damn you Talansky!!).That's two new names on the first post honours board.
A poor day(82pts) for robacairns saw him lose his lead in the Forum's Scorum's Tirreno-Adriatico to chrisdstripes and his Contador/Nibali/Froome triumvirate.A fimiliar guy in 4th looks ominous though!!
Alan Tullett holds a 35pt lead in the purist AND has Greipel and Cavendish whist his nearest rival(NeilG83) has Sagan.
In the Forum's Scorum's overall the ding-dong battles for 2nd/3rd and 8th/9th rage on.....with Alan Tullett ceding 2nd to me(for now) and NeilG83 taking 8th back from drheaton.Wig_Billy still ruling both divisions and has nailed the 5K badge.
Well I do read inrng sometimes but I haven't had much time for research this week. I was going on an early stage in the 2011 Vuelta, which is the last time I saw Poels do well.
I have got Kwiatkowski as well as Nibali, he was 4th yesterday and has been my most consistent points scorer. Got him in my standard now. God knows why I didn't before.
Gutted, my two extra transfers kept me out of the top ten for T-A
