Motorist to appear in court after second arrest in two days
https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/motorist-appear-court-af...
It's amazing what people will put on Twitter:
I fell down a Twitter rabbit hole with this thread responding to a cyclist talking about driving in a 20mph area:
https://twitter.com/trevor_hutton/status/1643898732235063297?s=20
Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you can overtake and break the speed limit temporarily if safe to do so, how do you know you were doing 20mph?, the driver has a speedometer, legally he can do 23mph 20mph+10% plus 1 in the Met Police area?
Then there is Babar who is convinced that the HWC tells you that you have an obligation to pull up and get out of the way to allow faster drivers to overtake even if they are breaking the law to do so. - in the context of the original tweet bemaoning being harrassed for driving at the 20mph limit.
Then there is Mark who is a journalist who claims to be a critical thinker who claims that: "You have a cheek criticising me over critical thinking. The roads are safe, accident levels low and everyday millions of drivers prove you wrong." as he was claiming that 20mph limits will cause more accidents than they will save,
The bike lane came out of nowhere!

A couple of rum 'uns in the Shropshire Star (a surprisingly low car crash story count so far this week):
A drug user carrying a baseball bat and a knife in his car avoided prison for driving into a police car in a Telford cemetery. 41 year old Robert Jones had no driving licence, no insurance, also received an endorsement for driving without due care but avoided prison because "an instruction had been issued to restrict custodial sentences due to limited spaces in UK prisons."

On Wednesday evening a car overturned in the village of Condover near Shrewsbury. No driver mentioned but "one person was left in the care of the ambulance service."
https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/local-hubs/shrewsbury/2023/04/06/eme...
I did a search for 'Condover car overturned'... I guess it has ignored the Condover bit but bloomin' eck that's a LOT of cars with their wheels in the air! [search results]
We share the roads with these people.
I suppose we should be glad that they understood the zig-zags.

"St Albans - Driver of the below vehicle said he thought parking below was appropriate as he was avoiding the zig zags. Suitably advised and reported for process."
Carnage, bedlam - other words casually tossed around by drivers reaping as they sow on a Wednesday afternoon.

"It’s that time of year in North Norfolk when huge flocks of migratory Range Rovers arrive from their overwintering grounds in London. At some key nesting sites like Burnham Market they occupy every inch of space, like kittiwakes on a cliff side. Truly a majestic site to behold"

"Small troop of e-cyclists, their distinctive hi-viz colouration a defensive adaption - these are Range Rovers’ favourite prey. They may think they’re safe to be grazing here but in fact they’re dangerously close to the Holkham colony"

Usual incompetence at the w/e from drivers unable to cope with walkers on minor roads no pavement.
One was a few cm away, others passed at speed, one seemed to think that passing close on our left (we were on the right of the road) was ok because he was overtaking a parked car.
All they had to do was wait 5 - 10 seconds...
... but had to get to the easter egg hunt.

Alleged camber issue not obvious in the picture; would it not be easier to close the road all together, rather than have all the broken wing mirrors?
Surely the wearing of hiviz and mounting a bicycle is enough...
A yellow sticker on each windscreen would have been nice or a night's work for a tow truck even better.

I actually agree with them moving the racks in this instance - Wine St has a lot more space.
