stw is probably the best place, but its frequented by resident trolls and mischief makers. but if go there too often you will change into a middlemanagement audi driving atgni type who thinks he knows everything about riding a bike ever.

MBR magazine has an active forum.

I thought I'd have a look at what's going on there, then realised that they're blocked...
I'm on my umpteenth 101 year ban from that site...they're rather precious about their revenue protection but not terribly bright about moderating it
Plus not many of them are actually mountain bikers, more middle management types and teachers that strap Santa Cruzes to Audis and drive to the surrey hills to have a coffee
I'm into thousands of year bans... Current log in is still active but I got bored of the narrow mindedness of the place and the general arse lickery of, well, of anyone that they thought carried kudos. As I said, I got bored and blocked the site from this computer.
My depression cleared up pretty much over night.
Most advice over there will be of the latest, brightest or most expensive sort.
Or On-One if whatisface is still running the place.

It seems offraod.cc has a forum, but it seems hidden and doesn't appear to me to have any content.
Grit.cx is a good place for gravel stuff and singletrack is a good MTB forum. I'm sure there are others.
