What the hell! That is actually mental.. he crashed a BMW X5 into an Audi A1 from behind at 49mph.. got asked 'what happened there?' by his fellow passenger police colleague and subsequently drove off while his colleague asked his 'aren't you going to stop' to which he just shrugged his shoulders.. and carried about his day.. not even reporting it when he got back to base.. and then when asked why he didn't stop claims "I haven’t stopped and reported it because I have no recollection of it happening, and I believe that’s due to the fact that I have had an episode of trans global amnesia.”
That's pretty bad behavious from the police.. BUT I'm more concerned about the 'trans global amnesia' nonsense.. does that mean anyone can commit a crime and just say they can't remember it happening and that'll be that then? ... Sorry mi'lud.. I can't remember driving into anyone, do you have proof that I was behind the wheel at the time, becuase y'know, sometimes I let my family drive the car and I suffered a bout of trans global amnesia y'know.... I mean I know we've seen this bollocks excuse in other cases, but surely this loophole needs closing.. how do we get loopholes closed in the law?
Erm - immoral cameras? "Immoral"?? Seems a bit of an overreaction...
So what the lorry driver is saying is that in the 24 years since passing his test, he hasn't picked up a copy of the highway code? Because it's there in black and white (Rule 249).
And if he thinks lorry drivers are "easy pickings", I would suggest law enforcement would have a much easier time enforcing Rule 248 - go to any residential street at night (excluding those where most houses have driveways) and you'll find a significant proportion of cars are parked illegally facing the wrong way. I daresay the majority of drivers are completely ignorant of that requirement.

“The nature of on-call duties usually involves dealing with traumatic injuries, including road traffic injuries."
Who said irony was dead?
I went to the supermarket to stock up on laughing emojis - this is the scene
Milk and Alcohol: obviously a Dr. Feelgood fan.
If the livestock won't wear hi-viz or helmets and won't follow the Highway Code, why should we expect that they'll take any notice of those signs?
He'd have got a shorter ban for killing a cyclist!
I do actually have quite a lot of sympathy with local people in these popular tourism areas. Who, besides being increasingly priced out of housing, are now being priced out of having access to amenities.
Whilst it would be great for more people to cycle or get the bus to the beach, for many, a car is pretty much an essential. There's also the basic resentment that 'poor' people have to change their ways so that the rich, for whom £10 parking is pocket change, get easier access to a restricted resource.
Surely it is not beyond the wit of the local council to ensure residents at least get a hefty discount on the amenities they already pay for via council tax?
Holy fucking Shit! That wasn't just a gentle nudge, that was pre meditated with absolute intent and every prospect of causing serious injury.
Jason Bournemouth?
seems like a parady account to me, user name is even Gammon,
Don't you know I still believe
That you will be here
And give me a sign?
Hit me, baby, one more time
I'm more concerned this is one of the traffic cops, ie specifically trained police drivers, not your average cop in a car.
But also these are the ones who review & judge dashcam close passes, and being put on administrative non operational duties probably means that's their main job currently.
At least they took away his gun privileges.
I'm not in the habit of stopping in lay-bys at night, but I couldn't have told you about that one (rule 248) to be honest.
But I definitely know rule 249 - it's what side-lights are for, and must be a lot older? A lot of cars let you put only the relevant side on as well and battery life/ LED improvements must mean they can be on for a while - it was instant death leaving your lights on, like flooding the engine, when I learnt to drive.
Drivists don't need to wear hi-viz or helmets?
oh wait - I see what you mean now....
It's not 'essential' to go to the beach unless it's part of your job. Genuinely deprived people probably can't afford a car in the first place!
Using the term 'deprived people' is just like the whataboutery deployed against LTNs, pedestrianisation of town centres etc saying "what about disabled people" when they don't GAF about them. Do they really think that these Cornish car parks are full of 20 year old Peugeot 307s and tired Skoda Fabias? There will be more 19- to 22-plate SUVs and Audis than anything else. Anti-social drivers have had it too easy and too cheap for far too long.
Thanks to the repeated cuts every council has to find revenue somehow to pay for the services that everyone takes for granted - like the street cleaning, bin emptying and litter picking due to all the selfish c**ts that toss litter everywhere (like the sleeping bag with broken zip that I carried back from a beach walk on Anglesey the other week and the carrier bag full of bottles and cans collected the following morning on a short walk in Bangor).
"Triggered"' , "Provoked" , "Vigilante"
Oh hang on, she's the vigilante.
At least one to quote to people like gr0g who get very confused about the term.
Ah, the beautiful poetry of Britney Spears, sounding like an advert for domestic violence.
That is about the only thing that they have done. Surely they should take away his driving licence too? If you can't remember crashing a car, you're not safe to be on the road.
They seem to have made up a new road sign.
I didn't use the term 'deprived people'. My point was that local people should be considered a bit more when the problems of resource scarcity are, in certain areas, a direct consequence of somewhat uncontrolled tourism.
Have they got a warning sign for BMWs or is it just Fords?
Visitors slam 'extortionate' parking charges at popular Devon beach (Wollacoombe- also 'won't return' klaxon)
The fees have received mixed reviews with one calling the trip a ‘waste of time’
User Charley M said the parking charge was extortionate. She commented on June 5: “Car parking… £10 for 1 hour?! We had no other choice but to pay it.
“Daylight robbery. We were taking little one for her first play in the sand, turns out she isn’t a beach babe! Otherwise we would have stayed longer. Should have gone to wales. Waste of time- won’t visit again.”
Another user, Kelvinjohn agreed that the parking charges were 'unacceptable'. They said: "Car parking charges have become extortionate and really are a rip off despite their contributions to RNLI and beach maintenance. Ten pounds to park a car for a day or an hour is unacceptable." (See picture of "unacceptable" charges.)

"Genuinely deprived people probably can't afford a car in the first place!"
Which, for me is the essence of the Drivers and their Problems thread.
"Provide my exclusive luxury facility at a bargain basement price" is what I hear in the Woolacoombe story.
All that said, if you didn't want to be poorer, for your local authority to have less money, why did you vote for Brexit? (56.5% in Cornwall)
It can't have been pre-meditated, she was driving a car and drivists never think ahead.
I know the roads down which your life will drive (Life will drive)
I'll find the key that lets you slip inside (Slip inside)
but not who was driving
Like this perhaps? (From my Facebook feed)
That's a really detailed article for a local news site Incredible that the driver is still employed by the police in any capacity after admitting to such a serious medical condition...
Fit to practise?
