say whaaat! "Deputy Chief Fire Officer Steve Apter said: “Motorists blocking the paths of emergency services vehicles is worse than ever before."
Fire chiefs say the number of incidents where motorists hinder emergency service vehicles with erratic driving and poor parking is worse than ever before.
They add that these motorists are putting lives at risk by blocking off roads and even stopping on box junctions outside fire stations."

(no buildings harmed and apologies for the mission creep/ thread drift.)
A grade II listed bridge in Malmesbury?

What we need to do is to update all these old buildings and bridges to make them safe. It's a blight upon our country that we have all these non-hi-viz buildings and structures lying around that were thoughtlessly built without considering our modern motorist.

Those autonomous vehicles are up to no good again - I'm glad to see the trapped occupants managed to escape from the evil robotic vehicle, thought the article puts it as they 'absconded'. At least it was only an ambulance station and nothing important.

An archway that could have impeded a fire engine?? Tear it down, rip it out! Adding insult to injury, a vehicle has had to get SMALLER - hello, newsflash, we're all getting bigger.
Next, you'll be telling me that every housing area built in the last 50 years is a de facto LTN.
Okay, I know this is for cars and buildings, but I do like a good car/field mashup.
A vehicle crashed off the M5 this morning and ended up in a field: https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/local-news/driver-flees-after-crashing-car-5447296
(Admittedly the headline is written far more accurately: Driver 'flees' after crashing car off M5 into field near Bristol 'leaving passenger behind')
Also including this pic as it features a dog:

You only need look at the badge to know what the driver was like
Here's one from the US. The video is pretty scary.

Now the blame is on the crash itself, even the vehicles involved are innocent victims.

The home owners response intruiged me, blaming the road, signage & lighting as the cause, rather than the actual motorists.
I would be prepared to accept a row of really heavy duty steel piles, most of which would be obscured from the house by the fence, if I lived there- at the expense of the nutter driver's insurance company, and installed at the time of the repairs.
Bournemouth weekend car-fest. I wonder if this is what the Council meant when it said it had a plan for this summer.
No buildings harmed AFAIK.
A Veolia lorry got stuck under a railway bridge in Oakengates, Telford this morning. It blocked the road and disrupted train services. I saw it on BBC Shropshire's live update page so will disappear soon but the original photo they used (credited) is here:

One reply said "That poor bridge has taken a pounding over the years", suggesting that this is far from the first time it's happened.

Gleams and is gone; the cliffs of England stand,
Glimmering and vast, out in the tranquil bay.

So why bother with any sentence.
2 years ban - what a fucking joke. If the accident was due to type 1 diabetes, then they clearly cannot drive for the rest of their life.

"Fears of structural damage to a house" after it was hit by a complete twat driving a 4x4 at around 1am on Sunday. - Shropshire Star.
This is in a recently constructed cul-de-sac in a quiet village near Shrewsbury. FFS. And people wonder why I complain about the speed of f**king SUV drivers in the local lanes!
The Star also has articles saying that on Friday a man had to be cut free from a one-vehicle crash on a suburban road in Shrewsbury while another vehicle had hit a street light in the town and overturned in the early hours of Friday morning.
Car collides with tree and 3 other cars. No mention of a driver at all. Police are mystified.
