Just popping out to do the weekly shop.
From the Cambridge News site.

It is interesting to note that the Police corrected their earlier report of "The driver is believed to have lost control and left the road" to "It is believed the Corsa lost control and left the road, colliding with a tree".

Good job the pubs are closed
Oh, come on, he only winged it

“Where the Dirty Habit pub is, there are a lot of traffic problems because people come racing up and down the hill and crash into garden walls and parked cars virtually every other week."

how does a driver get their car onto its side in a supermarket car park on a Saturday morning? No buildings harmed here, but just what?

Quite a few other useful images there too.
Police search for five men after Peugeot crashes into Jeep in a driveway in Oakfield Lane
Another instance where we can be assured that as the police have got the car it won't take long to find the occupants, who will of course be fully insured and licenced and not remotely uninsured or unlicensed...

Police hunt suspicious teen cyclist after night of destruction in village
"Rocks were thrown through car and home windows and one property was deliberately set alight in the latest of a series of disturbances that have plagued the village’s streets in recent weeks."
"As part of their investigation, detectives are probing reports a suspicious white male teenager, wearing a hooded top and riding a bicycle, had been seen in the area."

Hit the building, unfortunately there was a 2 week old baby between the road and the building as well
Man, 34, charged after baby hit by car in Brownhills - BBC News
Laverstock Road car crash 'destroyed' steel post
"It was actually two lamp posts, a brand new galvanised one by the bridge and an older concrete one further down at the end of Cow Lane, as well as an illuminated road sign.
"The concrete lamp post was reduced to rubble and the steel one destroyed beyond recognition."
Police are appealing for witnesses and want to know if anyone knows the whereabouts of the two men.
And what with cars being registered and drivers insured, I'm sure the police will be able to find the occupants quickly and the council can charge the insurer the reinstatement costs of the damaged streetlamps.

Just what? Injuries Perpetrated on a volunteer (who was trying to address a problem largely made by occupants of cars) by a drugged up driver - and yet it's still "wear hi vis"!
Safety warning after roadside litter-picker injured in car collision
https://www.advertiserandtimes.co.uk/news/car-collision-with-litter-pick...
look no further if you needed a summary of how horrid and dangerous a main road is:
“If you choose to go litter picking, for your safety please don’t litter pick along roads with a speed limit of more than 30mph, highways or highway verges, or any roads where there is no pavement or footpath...and wear appropriate clothing...including a hi-vis vest if possible.”
Train services disrupted by bridge strike - I must get a couple of these each week, just from South West trains. Someone must now gets the rotten job of going out and giving the bridge the OK - another example of how cars abd lorries complicate and add to overheads - still, I've paid my £240 annual road tax, so that's all right.
Cyclists are a law unto themselves, blah blah
Flipping cars!

38 drivers stopped - 15 vehicles bad enough to be taken off the road, in respectable Trowbridge. The tip of an iceberg. Meanwhile, cyclists should pay road tax, etc.

When will car owners be held accountable if the little scamps get out and cause chaos?

I think you need to take a good long hard look at yourself,....
You can't expect someone to control a yaris in those conditions !
On that ad, wouldn't the insurance company just say, "So you are admitting liability?" and tell the driver to toddle off...?
It's the only way you can legally spend time in a pub at the moment.
Thanks Dave, I'm convinced that the bridge wasn't wearing enough Hi Viz.
And I also find it strange that the policeman would think that the church's insurance would even think about paying for repairs to the wall. Seems to me that the driver of the motor vehicle may be somewhat responsible there.
Angry that is was shut at 0130
I sometimes wonder what percentage of the emergency services' time is taken up with nonsense like this.
"Police are looking for the driver of a white car who has since fled the scene"
Clearly taking up the whole of the lane - asking for it really.
