"We're stout and we're proud."
Also "clunk-click every trip".
Bit of T Cut.
Well the driver was found unconscious, so I'm inclined to believe it was a medical episode.
However, drivers should have their licences revoked if they suffer a medical episode until it's either diagnosed and rectified or they have a minimum time (a year or three) without any symptoms before they are allowed to drive again.
I think I'd find myself in urgent need of throwing a mop bucket full of VERY dirty water out the front door were I the caretaker of the village hall. After all, what idiot is gonna park there?
I guess that motorhome driver doesn't bother looking at the road signs when he's using his satnav, even then, I'm surprised they even made it into Mill Road in the first place, it's not exactly invitingly wide!
Even more seriously, this - is a 24yo footballer really a candidate for passing out without warning?

"Driver acquitted after couple's crash death in Glenrothes
A man has been acquitted of causing the deaths of a couple by driving dangerously.
Liam McWatt, 24, walked free from court after jurors found the case against him not proven.
Earlier in the trial, the court heard that Mr McWatt had lost control of his vehicle and crashed into Harry and Shirley Taggerty.
The driver told a police officer at the scene that he must have blacked out before the crash.
Mr McWatt of Glenrothes, Fife, was driving in his home town when he hit the couple, who were walking on the other side of the road.
He was the sole occupant of a Ford Fiesta which was westbound on the A911 just after 10:00 in the morning on 13 July, 2019.
The jury heard that Mr McWatt's car crossed the carriageway and struck Harry Taggerty, 61, and his wife Shirley, 58.
One eyewitness described how Mr Taggerty tried in vain to pull his wife out of the way of the car which was "careering" towards them at speed.
The witness described how the couple appeared to still be holding hands as the impact threw them into the air.
A police officer who witnessed the crash previously told the court how he had seen Mr McWatt's car mount a pavement and hit the couple who were sent "flying into the air".
He said that he went to their aid but saw "no signs of life". He then turned to Mr McWatt who told him he had blacked out.
Mr McWatt went on to enter a not guilty plea, telling the court during the trial that he could not remember the moments leading to the crash but that he had been feeling unwell in the days before the collision and that he had been sent home sick from work.
Prosecutors had alleged that Mr McWatt drove at excessive speed while using a mobile phone, then crossed the road into the path of oncoming traffic.
The jury was told he had not tested positive for alcohol, and there were no defects in his vehicle that could explain what happened.
After deliberating for two hours, the jury returned its verdict that Mr McWatt was not criminally responsible for the Taggertys' deaths."

He probably thought
Fliegende Motorräder, ah, diese verrückten Englände
Whether he was being truthful or not, he shouldn't be allowed to drive again.
If you black out and as a result of that, other people lose their lives, then you cannot be proven to be a safe driver and should never drive again.
Any seasider no that the tame seagull is no such thing and is merely awaiting the chance to eat your sausages or fish & chips as you glance elsewhere for a second or two; or your eyeballs, if you stay still long enough.
A greater blackback gull may even eat your children - whole - if you let it into the playroom in the hope that it'll agree to being a pet! I have noticed them eyeing-up bairns in prams as the mothers queue for an icecream at the beach kiosk. They eat puffins on the wing whole so could certainly manage a small dog or even a mid-sized cat, if they can avoid the claws and teeth. Them poor bairns are defenceless, though.
So don't drIve a Fiat 500 where the blackbacks are?
Agreed re lengthy ban, etc
In this instance there appears to have been no charges even brought.
EDIT - no charges = no conviction = (?) no basis for the ban.
Hmm... heard something like that before somewhere? Ah, "This does break (international) law in a specific and limited way ..."
"The
forceminimising and down-playing are strong with this one"So many drivers clearly think they have to absolute right to do whatever they want. The village hall committee could try locking the gates for a few weeks, people would soon find an alternative.
Vast rights but no duties, especially to others. This is no equation on which to base a civil society. In the end, rights are only created by others following their duties to allow and enable them. And to not-enable them when the rights demanded consist largely of actions obliterating the rights of everyone else.
But oligarchies aren't concerned by civility but rather by dominance. There are the favoured few and the rest. Sometimes the rest can be fooled into thinking that they're one of the favoured by being given a sop-right, such as, "Feel free to drive like a maniac".
These foolish drivists feel that their vast drivist rights are protected so vote eagerly for their masters, despite the fact that the drivists too are being gassed slowly to death and may easily be car-squashed as they step from the voting station or anywhere else.
Welcome to the Third World.

Furious Yorkshire workman blocks police camera with tipper truck - and warned he could lose his own van
West Yorkshire Police were carrying out enforcement work when the 67-year-old blocked their view on purpose
The tipper truck driver was given a conditional caution with conditions prohibiting him from parking within 20 metres of any mobile speed enforcement vehicle or doing anything to willingly obstruct their view, and to remove all social media posts relating to him committing this or other offences. He was also issued with a Section 59 Notice under the Police Reform Act which means a repeat of this behaviour may result in the seizure of his vehicle.
(not sure why he's furious)

Pub blocks its car park with cones due to 'parents who won’t listen' taking up all the spaces picking up children
Workers from the pub are currently having to sit and monitor the car park each day
Louis claimed that the business was losing trade due to non-customers occupying the car park. He says: "We are losing trade. Potential customers go elsewhere if they see that the car park is full, workmen that visit the pub that finish around 3 o'clock have nowhere to park, and if we have events we need the spaces for the guests."
After a family called to say that they were unable to visit the pub due to the busy car park, Louis decided he needed to take action and block off the car park every afternoon. Workers sit by the cones and let genuine customers park.
(knocking off by 3 pm - what am I missing??)

Engineer says he has been forced to reduce how far he will travel for work due to new 20mph speed limit
All-service engineer Gary Keating from Ammanford said he doesn't think he will get his normal number of jobs done in a day after the new legislation is introduced because it will take him longer to get to customers
Asked what he thought about the new legislation in general, he said: "I don't agree with the blanket [change]. I agree [the 20mph speed limit] needs to be around schools, and it needs to be around maybe playgrounds or estates where kids do run around and there are a lot of pedestrians or even down in the high streets where the shops are.
"But to put the main roads, which is what a lot of these are, down to 20 because it's a built up area is probably not the best move to make... I just think it's going to cause major problems, not only with people like me, but what about with haulage companies? They're only allowed to do so many hours on the road before they have to stop - they're obviously not going to get as far, are they?"

Tunbridge Wells council denies claims by former councillor that bus lane fines have been wrongly issued to 29,000 drivers
A bit of a long read, but in short it's another driver try-on using the Schrödinger's traffic regulation order formula: the rules are too straightforward and simple, the rules are too confusing.
But Matt Bailey, who lost his seat in May, says Tunbridge Wells council has been improperly handing out the penalties.
Mr Bailey, an accountant, himself received a ticket after breaching the bus gate restrictions in July. He said: “I did it deliberately to test whether they would allow an appeal.”

Southampton dad called 'paedophile' for calling out bad parking
Speaking to the Echo, he said: “They are leaving their cars parked on no-stopping zones, which causes long queues and cars driving over pavements.
“They then drive on the pavement when there's queues of traffic.
“If a child gets hurt because of this it will be a disaster.
“On one occasion I put masking tape on a badly parked car, which then made the driver angry."
