You want to laugh, but that's actually an interesting one given the law in Wales regarding bilingual signage...

I'm dreading the inevitable onslaught of adverts that will follow, but I can't resist watching this one...

I thought it was four black Audis working to keep a stereotype alive, but I see now that one is a black VW.

"Hey guys, want to go to the beach? Why don't the four of us all drive separately?"

Milton Keynes councillor resigns after motoring conviction I saw the headline and thought that, for once, a politician had done the honourable thing; been convicted of something and resigned. Then I read the article and the councillor was convicted of driving without due care and attention, on a provisional licence and without insurance (caught after crashing into another car) in May but only resigned recently as the local newspaper reported it. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-66408067

A perfek emblem of The Toryspiv - amoral and stuffed i' the big hugly heed with the notion that there's one law for the serfs and another for the aristocrats such as hisself. (Or, rather, no law at all).

I'm surprised he resigned, when found out, rather than making howls & barks about his freedumbs. But perhaps the local Toryspivs have not yet devolved into the fullblown Boris Bokum mode?

You were right, I did.  And again.  And again.

The man is right.  It won't be popular here but this really is one of those cases where the road is going too slow for the drivers.

It seems perfectly obvious that the driver's view of the 60 foot tall tree would've been almost totally obscured by the small bush in the foreground and therefore no further action should be taken.

The tree should have moved to one side to let the driver go past

The driver is said to be pretty binned-off by the whole episode.

I can't find it on Twitter?

0 likes - oh, come on - I had to sit though 10 minutes of Love Island to acquire that expression.

Joy almost unconfined- the only bad part is that the sea didn't sort the b******s out. Not as good as Rufford Ford where gratification is almost immediate.

Not quite sure what you want to laugh about? The second part of your comment suggests that you were close to appreciating that the case, which has now been dismissed again, was nothing to do with 'Drivers and their problems'

Hmmm, I guess it's possible. It does look a bit like 中国.

A corruption of "Thursday market" in Cornish, apparently

I think that was stated in one twitter thread I saw the pic in.

"Typhoon in China. No idea if they were parked or being driven at the time though."

Not sure what andystow's last 2 characters are though !

Update - appeal case thrown out on procedural grounds. More to do with the company's incompetence than willingness/ability to communicate in Welsh.

Chalk one up against Big Car Parking and one for the Little Man. File under W for What cars do to people.

It's a shame that that page doesn't have the video and Waverley Council, which originally posted the video on Twitter, seems to have taken it down as well – legal reasons, perhaps? I caught it early this morning before it was taken down from Twitter, absolutely hilarious watching the bin man calmly watching the idiot slide down the bank with a "Oh look, there's another one of them" expression.

Pure gold today from the World Bollard Association!

That's "an installation" by a-one o' them postmodern "artists". You can tell because no one has gone to view it excpet a photog from the mass media.

It will be bought for $1,050,999 by an American, who will have formed an expectation that he has also bought the street, bollards and surrounding buildings, so there'll be an expensive court case lasting 13 years and paid for out of the local rates.

It's the road not the driver

"A man has identified an accident blackspot in Northern Ireland. He has sent the Department of Infrastructure a selection of clips showing vehicles crashing in the same place over the period of a month."

You really have to watch the video though.

Found the location! Really hard to understand the crashes unless someone is pouring oil on the road when it's wet. I suppose there's always a remote chance that the drivers are not seeing the "SLOW" sign right before the gentle bend, though.

Sorry don't know it was basically a tweet and that's all it said. No idea which town it is.

Or noting that this is a signed cycling and walking route, so they should be driving with even greater consideration that they are likely to encounter vulnerable road users... https://goo.gl/maps/tTaLr4uBqsdmChWH7

I think it's a pity the motorist didn't have some sort of four wheel drive vehicle (supposedly) intended for off-road use...

Oh that is just glorious. Particularly as nothing seems to have been using the other lane.

Seems to me that many drivers see the SLOW signs as a challenge.

Or some other lubrication perhaps? There is a pub up the road, although in my experience, some of it quite close to here, drivers in NI don't need booze to drive like there's no tomorrow.
